Restoration of Trinity/Kashmere Gardens

Think Outside the Church!

We have mobilized Calvary members to put our faith in action and make a difference in our surrounding community by creating the “Sprout Revitalization Organization” as our Social Justice project for Missions and outreach. The “SPROUT” Project encapsulates the vision that Kashmere/Trinity Gardens will begin to grow; shoot forth and develop into a vibrant dynamic community. It is our vision for Calvary UMC to become a light on the hill for our surrounding community.  We are launching a neighborhood beautification project and would love to work with City officials to clean up all the debris in our community.  We plan to establish a community reputation of being good neighbors and social justice advocates for our community.

We hosted a town hall meeting to address the neglect of city services in the Trinity Gardens and Kashmere Community. Our Next Town hall meeting is scheduled for September 16th.    We have written letters to the Mayor and several city council persons addressing illegal dumping and lack of heavy trash pickup in our community.  We are training our congregation to be actively involved in taking the initiative to clean up our community.  We have also agreed to work on the following Neighborhood Projects for the remainder of this year.
